On Oct. 26, Helping Hands partnered with Monteith Tire to host the 2nd annual Car Care Day. This event, hosted at Monteith Tire in Warsaw, Ind., was dedicated to serving single moms through WCC’s The River ministry, a community that supports women through connection and restoration. The goal of the event was to meet practical needs while embodying “The Bless Practices” to reflect God’s love.
16 cars belonging to single moms were serviced and repaired by skilled technicians at Monteith Tire, receiving a helping hand from the WCC team. While the Monteith Tire crew handled the vehicles, leaders from The River ministry spent time ministering to the attending women.
The work performed on the cars included essential repairs like oil changes, new tires, and even a surprise sway bar link replacement for one mother, who had been unaware of the issue.
“I thought all they would do for free was change our oil,” said the mom. “When the team discovered my sway bar link was broken, they even sourced a new part from NAPA! I am beyond thankful for The River, WCC, and Monteith!”
As a critical part of WCC’s adult ministry Community Care, Helping Hands aims to show the love of Christ through tangible assistance, and this year’s Car Care Day was a wonderful example of that mission in action. Special thanks to Nick Miller and his team at Monteith Tire for creating this opportunity to bless our single mom community.
