Be encouraged through messages of hope and truth, as well as opportunities for further Bible study and reflection, while getting church updates. We are currently taking a break from Midweek Connection as our team prepares for fall ministry opportunities. However, you can still view these weekly sessions we recorded from March into early August of 2020. They are posted on our Facebook page and online on our Vimeo showcase.
In this week’s Midweek Connection, Todd and Denny review what we've been learning from the book of Philippians as they discuss our series Joy Remains, and how relevant the truth of Paul's letters are for us especially today. They also provide some updates regarding future service details, and the return of fall ministry activities. Please know that this will be the final Midweek Connection for a while, as we will be taking a break so our team can focus on the ministry activities and events we are planning to bring back in August and September.
In this week’s Midweek Connection, Sarah and Todd conclude our two-part discussion on the basics of how to interpret and study the Bible with some key tips and instructions to encourage your own growth and understanding. You can find this week's study materials here. For more details on the Bible Project, visit their site. And check out Bible Gateway's Scripture Engagement tool.
Sarah and Todd began our two-part discussion on the basics of how to interpret and study the Bible with some key tips and instructions to encourage your own growth and understanding. We've included an overview sheet of the Inductive Study Method to help you and to prepare for next week's teaching.
Scott and Todd dive further into the book of Philippians as they discuss more about our series Joy Remains, and what they've been excited most about doing a summer sermon series through a specific book of the Bible. They also share some procedural updates regarding future service details and guidelines, and a quick preview of what's coming up in our Bible Reading Plan and next week's Midweek Connection.
Denny sits down with special guest, Ben Higgins, who shares how what he learned about his faith at WCC and eventually as a Student Ministries intern impacted his experiences later in life, like being on the show The Bachelor. Ben also discusses how he's used the new platform he has been given to make a difference in the world and share his faith – even during the global pandemic and recent protests against racial injustice.
We conclude our two-part discussion on racism with Denny and a panel of friends. Last week the panel shared their personal experiences with racism. This week they will build upon that discussion by talking about what we should be listening to and learning from people of color and how we, the church, are called to love one another and respond to evil with good (Romans 12).
Todd speaks on the topic of marriage, and is joined by the Yeager’s and the Gehrke’s, to bring us our Midweek Connection teaching, providing some encouragement and guidance for our marriages during this pandemic.
Student Ministries Director, Ryan Langeland, along with some special guests, Matt and Lori Deeds bring us our Midweek Connection teaching, providing some needed encouragement and guidance for parenting in the midst of a crisis like the coronavirus pandemic.
Denny brings us a teaching, looking at how we can process the grief we’re going through right now, while planning for the future and the opportunity you have to define your new normal.
In Philippians 4:4 we’re told to “not be anxious about anything.” In this season of uncertainty that feels really challenging. So, what does that exactly look like right now? Watch our teaching with Todd as he unpacks Philippians 4:4-9 and explains how we can go from being anxious to being filled with God’s peace.
