School Support Updates

Here’s an update on some of the opportunities we’ve been talking about at WCC and the ways you can impact our community over the next weeks and months…

SCHOOL SUPPLIES HELP:

Thank you to everyone that picked up United Way Ready-to-Go bags the last couple of weeks! Please remember to return them filled to WCC by Sunday, July 31. If you’ve not been able to get everything, or nothing at all by Sunday, please return the bags with whatever you have gotten. We can make sure that they are filled before they go to the schools.

Didn’t get to fill any bags, or want to volunteer even more? There are a couple other school supply related opportunities to check out:

• CCS’ Tools for Schools: Certain school supply items are still needed, which you can donate. Or volunteer for the distribution at the Kosciusko County Fairgrounds on Tuesday evening, August 2, at 6pm, or Wednesday, August 3, 9am-3pm. • LifeTouch Ministries & Counseling Center’s UnGarage Sale: Donate the following items; lightly used to new clothing for infants to adults, gas and grocery cards, and school supplies. Or volunteer at the event on Saturday, August 6, 9am-4pm at 2510 E Center St. in Warsaw. Contact Karen Gerst at 574-527-3648 for more details.

NEW TEACHER SUPPORT:

Through our relationships with Leesburg and Eisenhower Elementary Schools, we get the opportunity to welcome new families to our community. Four new Dual Language teachers and their families will be arriving from both Spain and Colombia by August 1, and we want to help. Please consider donating new or lightly used items like furniture, household goods, gift cards, etc.
