Several WCC Community Care Helping Hands volunteers were present for the Oct. 8 dedication of the newest Habitat for Humanity home in Warsaw, an event that made Missy Francis a first-time homeowner. A total of 15 WCC Helping Hands volunteers worked at various times throughout the six-month build, installing floor joists and dry wall. More than 130 community volunteers in total worked more than 1,300 hours to build the house. In addition, WCC, as a Habitat for Humanity sponsor, donated funds to the project.

“I am so thankful for WCC’s support in building the home,” said Ben Logan, executive director of Habitat for Humanity of Kosciusko County and a WCC attendee. “This dedication is also a celebration. We’re celebrating as we dedicate this house to God and thanking Him for what He has provided.”

“It is such a blessing to be part of a team that is focused not only on building temporary dwellings for others here on earth but is also focused on pointing people to a permanent dwelling in heaven as the result of a life lived for Jesus Christ,” said Jeff Pfeifer, Pastor of Care Ministries at WCC. “It is a true privilege to serve with this team of committed volunteers.”
