WCC celebrated its 30th anniversary with a single Sunday morning service on the church’s back lawn Oct. 1. Around 1,500 people gathered for the event, which was built around the theme “I will build my church,” a quote from Jesus. The morning started with a continental breakfast and an array of activities for children, including a bouncy house, crafts, face painting and a petting zoo. Families could also interact with a fire truck and tour the recently completed WCC pavilion.
The service included worship songs from throughout the last three decades, an interview-style sermon presented by Pastors Todd Gerst and Denny Wilson, and a Parent/Child Dedication, at which 15 families were represented.
“It was amazing to see people who have been attending WCC from the beginning, along with newer faces who call WCC their home,” said Todd, who officially transitioned to Senior Pastor at the event. “What a powerful day for us to be gathered together in one service, celebrating what God has done and what He is yet to do.”
