75 Church Leaders Encouraged by “His Story” in Islam-Dominated South Asia

“His Story”, a book which presents the Bible in a cohesive story leading to Jesus, recently made waves through a seminar in South Asia at the beginning of October. Led by WCC missions partner Pastor W.S., the two-day intensive teaching engaged 75 church leaders across the region as two speakers presented through the core storyline of the Bible. In addition, nine Muslims attended and heard the Gospel through the seminar as well.

“His Story” was originally created as an ESL resource, however it was realized that the simple language could be used as a Gospel resource for languages beyond English. As such, “His Story” has been translated into Bangla, German, Urdu, Haitian Créole, and Spanish. The Urdu translation specifically was used for the South Asian seminar.

Multiple people remarked on feeling blessed and anointed by the event. One church leader reported that two cities in the area are eager for God’s story to be shared with them. All attendees received a copy of “His Story” in Urdu to use in their own communities.

“Praise God for the power of His Word and the beauty of The Church around the world!” said Michael Boze, WCC pastor of missions. “They are determined to host more seminars with new people who have been impacted by the teaching. This is a clear image of the Gospel multiplying!”
