UPDATE: Within one hour of this urgent need being posted on our website(below), 150+ bagged lunches were secured. Twenty-four hours later the lunches were delivered by WCC families to the Community Kitchen and distributed to families in need. We love seeing people respond with the love of Jesus through acts of service for our community!

(ORIGINAL POST) Over the last decade, WCC has had the privilege of helping provide meals to the Community Kitchen. In partnership with other churches and organizations, we work with First United Methodist Church in downtown Warsaw to help provide lunches to those in need each week. The next day to prepare and provide lunches for distribution is Wednesday, November 10 and unfortunately, they are coming up short.

In order to follow social distancing guidelines, we’re not able to serve a hot lunch, but sack lunches are requested at this time. These can be prepared off-site and dropped off by 10:30am, or you may use space in the kitchen at First United Methodist Church (179 South Indiana Street, Warsaw, Indiana 46580) to prepare your bagged lunch, if you prefer.

The church is in need of 225 bagged lunches this week and visitors will walk up to the church doors or drive through in the their cars to receive meals. Whether you can provide 1 lunch or 20 lunches, if you can help, please visit the “Perfect Potluck” sign-up pagethen put your name in as many lines as the number of lunches you are planning to contribute. Each bag needs to include a sandwich, vegetable, fruit, and dessert item. Beyond that, you may add other items. (Please note: if you provide meat sandwiches, they should NOT have condiments already on them.)

Thank you for helping to provide lunch for our community! For further questions, contact: Rachel Steger, 260-403-0372.
