With NERF guns in hand, fourth, fifth, and sixth grade students battled it out in a fun-filled Friday night on May 17. The annual C456 NERFageddon transformed WCC’s campus into a high energy battlefield, utilizing both indoor and outdoor spaces as students fought for domination. Friendly partner competitions and large group NERF war aside, the event also allowed the 40 students to learn more about Jesus. Many of the 40 were new faces as well, as C456 students brought friends and peers who do not regularly attend WCC.
“I am extremely encouraged by the way C456 students are reaching out to their friends and inviting them in,” said Jada Rhodes, Program Leader. “It was a treat getting to teach the Gospel message knowing that there were many students there who were either hearing it or understanding it for the first time because their peers had invited them.”
The event’s success heavily relied on volunteer involvement. Volunteers led activities from check-in, game setup, serving food, and cleaning up. A Student Ministries small group also took care of all the teardown and end-of-night cleaning.
