WCC’s Helping Hands, an extension of its Community Care ministry, was out working in the Kosciusko community on Saturday, Aug. 10. In support of a home build in Mentone, Ind., 11 volunteers put together the structure for a new roof, in partnership with Habitat for Humanity.
“Everyone ministered really well together,” said Jeff Pfeifer, Pastor of Care Ministries. After a time of devotions, our volunteers were able to install all the roof trusses. Kimber Boyd (future homeowner) and her daughter Nicole participated. She, along with Ben Logan and Dennis Judy from Habitat for Humanity, were very pleased!”
This is not the first time Helping Hands has been involved with community support alongside Habitat for Humanity. At the end of March, WCC Helping Hands volunteers participated in the dedication of two Habitat homes in Claypool, Ind. Construction on the two homes began the previous year and were brought to completion through the work of various teams, including WCC’s.
