Warsaw Community Church recently hosted its C456 Extreme Event, NERFageddon, where 4th, 5th, and 6th grade kids battled over sections of the church in lighthearted but competitive games with Nerf guns. As an annual event, the night is more than foam-dart fun, however. This year, the group engaged in a powerful message centered on the Armor of God and the spiritual battles that Christians face every day. More importantly, the students heard the gospel message and were invited to accept Christ as their Savior—some perhaps for the very first time.

One standout story emerged from a student whose family regularly attends WCC, but he himself had been hesitant about joining C456 on Sunday mornings. Prior to NERFageddon, he had only attended once all year. After the event, he told his mom he wanted to come on Sundays—and he’s been attending consistently ever since. This kind of tangible follow-up is rare and encouraging, a true testament to the impact an event like this can have.

A big win of the event was the number of students who invited friends or came back to WCC after a long time away. Of the 60 kids in attendance, 17 were walk-ins, and 13 were identified as irregular or non-attenders—roughly 21% of total attendance.

NERFageddon follows the C456 “Belong” retreat which dove deeper on Sunday topics alongside games, continuing the philosophy that faith and fun can work effectively together.
