With a message on Christ’s death and resurrection, senior pastor Todd Gerst encouraged audience members with the hope of Jesus on Easter Sunday 2025. As one of the heaviest attended events of the year, Warsaw Community Church saw an increase in both in-person and online viewership, boosted by new guests to the WCC community.
The following Sunday demonstrated the draw of Easter the week before. Discovering WCC, a next-steps ministry, had 35 participants—many of whom whose first time at WCC was Easter. Discovering WCC introduced attendees to key members, such as elders, pastors, and staff, and connected them to WCC’s history with how to be involved moving forward.
“Having Discovering WCC right after Easter turned out to be a great choice,” said Carissa Metzger, Engagement Coordinator and organizer for Discovering WCC. “It definitely has me thinking of future improvements to direct people to the class who aren’t familiar with our building.”
Discovering WCC has been an offering for years to bridge the gap between Sunday attendance and deeper involvement in the church. The next Discovering WCC class is slated for the fall.
