For The week of Sunday, July 31, 2022
Weekly Reading: Joshua 1, 2, 6, 23, and 24, Proverbs 23—24

So the Lord gave Israel all the land he had sworn to give their ancestors, and they took possession of it and settled there. The Lord gave them rest on every side, just as he had sworn to their ancestors. Not one of their enemies withstood them; the Lord gave all their enemies into their hands. Not one of all the Lord’s good promises to Israel failed; every one was fulfilled.”  –Joshua 21:43-25

This week we enter into a “guided tour” of the Old Testament.  We begin with the book of Joshua which recounts the fulfillment of God’s promise to Israel.  Reading the verses above sums this up well, “Not one of all the Lord’s good promises to Israel failed”.  In the coming weeks, we will spend time in 1 & 2 Samuel, Kings, and Chronicles.  Let’s pray that the Lord uses this exploration of the Old Testament to renew our sense of wonder at His unfailing love and faithfulness. –Nate Metler
