In the past three weeks, WCC’s Helping Hands has been actively serving needs in the Warsaw community. Three weekends ago, team member Bob Shoemaker assisted an elderly woman by replacing one of her house’s exterior railings. With the new railing installed, she can enter and leave her home without the risk of falling. Through this tangible demonstration of God’s love, Bob also ministered to the woman’s unchurched son-in-law.

Two weekends ago, team members Bryan Crawley, Darlene Eherenman, John Kimple, Micah Metzger and Robert Cunningham built a ramp for a woman with spinal problems who uses a walker. The new ramp extends to a side door of her home, allowing ease of access that was unavailable before.

Last weekend, team members Alexi Demopoulos, Andrea Baker, Bob Mills, Connor Slavicek, Jamy Gregory, Kent Thrasher, Micah Metzger, Mike Phelps, Nate Frye and Scott Hutcherson worked on two new builds for Habitat for Humanity. Both projects are homes for single moms.

“The ramp works really well, and I want to continue to connect with the church,” said the woman who received the new ramp. “Thank you to all who came and helped— WCC has loved me in ways I have never been loved before.”
