Weekly Reading: 1 Chronicles 10, 13, 17, 28, 29, Ecclesiastes 9—10

If you seek him, he will be found by you.” –1 Chronicles 28:9

This week we gain a different perspective on the history of Israel.  While 1 & 2 Kings was written during the exile of God’s people, both 1 & 2 Chronicles were written after their return.  Throughout both we see how Israel’s obedience to God brought about blessings and disobedience led to struggles for them.  Seeking God and obeying Him places us on sure footing, just as it did for ancient Israel.  Thanks to Jesus Christ and our faith in Him, we now have the Holy Spirit.  The Spirit leads us on the right path and helps us see hope and truth amid life’s messiness.  As you read this week, look for examples of God’s faithfulness and those who live wisely in gratitude to Him. –Nate Metler
